Eckhoff and Oeberg to win womens sprint – (1pt each) (3/1, 8/1)
I think the winner comes from one of these 2 today. Eckhoff looks back to her best and this uphill course really suits her skiing style. Oeberg also will be strong round here and is too big a price at 8/1. I’d have a tiny hedge on Herrmann as well since if she shoots 10 again she most likely wins this.
Horse Racing:
1:30 – The front 4 in the market will probably contain the winner here with Solo maybe being my preferred choice. Cerberus looks like a solid E/W bet at 20/1 but I’d rather be a watcher than a player here.
2:10 – The winner is most likely going to be a Mullins horse. Ciel De Neige, Saint Roi and Aramon have all seen their fair share of support. Ciel De Neige would be my preferred pick but is quite short. Stolen Silver looks the best of the British hopes at 14/1.
2:50 – The 2 that catch my eye here are Fury Road and Sempo. Fury Road was a big overnight gamble of Gordon Elliott’s and his horses have been superb this week. Sempo meanwhile looks a very plausible improver and could be a definite player here.
3:30 – I’d be interested to see what makes the running here, there are a lot of horses that like to stay on off a strong pace but no obvious frenetic gallop likely. This will play into the hands of strong travelling types like Delta Work, Al Boum Photo and Kemboy. Lostintranslation as well could go well at a big price if recovering from a previous poor run.
4:10 – This will be an utter slog, the winner will be one of the front 5 in the market with only Top Wood at a bigger price looking like having a chance. Minella Rocco is a deserving favourite but could face a serious challenge from Billaway or Staker Wallace. I’d be tempted to take a chance on Staker Wallace here with Jamie Codd on board.
4:50 – I’m very keen on Greaneteen here, this horse just won’t stop improving and if it settles well here then it will take a lot of beating. I would be worried though that Gordon Elliott has a couple set out for this one and Chosen Mate would also fit the bill of being very unexposed over fences and should like this track, 1 of these 2 should win here.
5:30 – Front View looks the best bet here, it represents last year’s winning yard and looks to have very strong credentials off a fairly low weight. Pileon is a alternative at a bigger price.
