Crystal Palace vs Tottenham
Odds: Palace – 10/3 Draw – 13/5 Spurs – 5/6
What I think will happen:
I can see Spurs dropping points here. Conor Gallagher has been in red hot form lately and I can see him contributing to at least 1 goal for Palace. Spurs may be unbeaten, but all 3 games have been 1-0 wins and it was disappointing that they couldn’t put more past Watford and didn’t create too many big chances. Palace aren’t the greatest at the back, but with home advantage they can keep Spurs down to 1 goal as well and get a draw.
Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham (I’d take Palace or draw here)
Arsenal vs Norwich City
Odds: Arsenal – 1/2 Draw – 16/5 Norwich – 11/2
What I think will happen:
The loss against Leicester has me doubting if Norwich will really have any impact on the league this season. It was the best time to possibly play Leicester, they were at home and though they played pretty well, they still lost. They just don’t create enough good chances to consistently get results and don’t defend well enough either. Arsenal have been dreadful early in the season but they can turn things around now. They’re getting guys back from injury like Partey and with Aubameyang and Lacazette having 2 weeks to build fitness they can finally start scoring goals. I like Arsenal to win 2-0 here.
Arsenal 2-0 Norwich (Arsenal to win is too short a price so no bet here)
Brentford vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Odds: Brentford – 17/10 Draw – 11/5 Brighton – 17/10
What I think will happen:
It’s really hard to separate these sides. But for me Brentford can have the edge at the moment. They’re defending better than Brighton and have home advantage so I’d have them as the favourites to win this one. That being said, 1-1 sticks out as the most likely scoreline here. Brighton have only had 1 really poor performance so far and that was against an underrated Everton side that are stronger than Brentford. I can see them doing enough to draw here.
Brentford 1-1 Brighton (Betting 1-1 as a correct scoreline could be a good shout here)
Leicester City vs Manchester City
Odds: Leicester – 5/1 Draw – 3/1 Man City – 4/7
What I think will happen:
Leicester have been a real bogey team for Man City over the last few years but I can see that changing here. Leicester have a lot of injuries at the back and Soyuncu is in shambolic form at the moment so they have major issues at centre back. Man City have scored for fun in their last couple of games against poor sides and while I see this being a slightly tougher test, they should still be able to win this one.
Leicester 1-3 Man City
Manchester United vs Newcastle United
Odds: Man Utd – 1/6 Draw – 13/2 Newcastle – 14/1
What I think will happen:
This will be Ronaldo’s 2nd debut for Man United and the market expects it to be a comfortable win. I’m not fully sold on that though, I think they will win but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a close game for a decent period and I like Newcastle to score here. They’ve been able to score in the last few head to heads between these sides and with Man United still looking shaky defensively, they might fancy their chances here. But Man United will have too much here in the long run and I can definitely see Ronaldo scoring at least once in a 3-1 win.
Man United 3-1 Newcastle
Southampton vs West Ham United
Odds: Southampton – 19/10 Draw – 12/5 West Ham – 7/5
What I think will happen:
I can see Southampton pulling off an upset here. West Ham were fairly poor at the back against Palace and I can see Southampton being a solid home side this season. They looked a far better side at home to Man United than they did in their away games so far and with them showing some spirit to get 2 decent draws in their last 2 games they can kick on here and get a first win of the season in a game which should see a few goals.
Southampton 2-1 West Ham (over 2.5 goals at 8/11 would be my bet)
Watford vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Odds: Watford – 12/5 Draw – 11/5 Wolves – 5/4
What I think will happen:
Wolves have outplayed Spurs and Man United in their last 2 games but just haven’t been able to put the ball in the net. I’m hoping that with them having a slightly less high profile matchup here and the international break to boost fitness that they can finally get their season going. I do have some concerns though about this matchup, Watford are far better at home than they are away and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they did win this game. But I still see Wolves as the more likely winners due to them being more solid at the back than Watford and I’m guessing they can grind out a 2-1 win.
Watford 1-2 Wolves (No bet)
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Odds: Chelsea – 1/4 Draw – 17/4 Villa – 10/1
What I think will happen:
I’m still not particularly sold on Villa being much more than a solid mid table side with the Brentford game proving that and I can see them losing fairly comfortably here. Chelsea put in a really gritty performance against Liverpool and if they stay fit, they look the best team in the league this season. Lukaku has a strong record against Aston Villa with 6 goals in 8 games and I see him adding a couple more here. I like Chelsea to win this one 2-0.
Chelsea 2-0 Aston Villa (Chelsea to win to nil would be my bet)
Leeds United vs Liverpool
Odds: Leeds – 7/2 Draw – 10/3 Liverpool – 4/6
What I think will happen:
There’s a big question mark over this game for both sides with Raphinia being potentially unavailable for Leeds and with Alisson and Fabinho not being available for Liverpool if Brazil appeal against Premier League teams not releasing their international players. At the moment it looks like they will be unavailable and if that’s the case, I can see Leeds getting a result. Bamford looks to be heading towards top form and if Adrian is in goal for Liverpool then things will be chaotic at the back for Liverpool. I still don’t trust Leeds at the back though and Liverpool won’t be losing anyone on the attacking side of the ball so I’ll go for a 2-2 draw.
Leeds 2-2 Liverpool (If the Brazilian players are ok to play then I’d go 1-3 Liverpool)
Everton vs Burnley
Odds: Everton – 8/11 Draw – 13/5 Burnley – 4/1
What I think will happen:
I like Everton to win here. Gray was impressive again last week and they are firing on full cylinders going forward at the moment with Calvert-Lewin scoring in every game so far this season. They should have too much for a Burnley side who have been struggling to score so far this season and do seem to really be lacking quality at the moment. Everton can score at least 2 here and that should be enough to get the job done despite the defence still looking somewhat shaky.
Everton 3-1 Burnley
